After a successful ride yesterday, I wanted to put on a few more miles to see how the rib did with consecutive days of riding. I had no idea where I was going - the roads called individually... 121 to 116 to Adobe Road (waved to the Chippie hiding in the shade of the trees 1/2 way between 116 and Frates Road) and heard the call of D Street. There was a fair amount of traffic so I headed onto Hicks Valley Road thinking I'd take Chileno Valley Road but ended up making the left onto Marshall-Petaluma Road. Oh joy - for the second day in a row there's a fricking TURKEY in the middle of the road! Luckily I missed this one too... I was treated to yellows, oranges, and bluish purples along the way. The ocean was calling so I headed north on the 1, no one at the bakery, and into Bodega Bay for a top-off and potty break. It was a little windy but absolutely gorgeous on the coast. I kept hearing the call of Kings Ridge but it was getting late so I headed in on the 116. At Duncans Mills I headed south through a little slice of redwood heaven as it meandered along one of the feeders into the Russian River. At Monte Rio I turned onto the Bohemian Highway for some more alone time with the redwoods. I had forgotten how much fun that leg to Occidental is!!! I had a rabbit in a Volvo to follow so I was able to spend a little time enjoying the trees and the creek at a nice pace. Some fun on Graton Road to Green Hill to Occidental and back on to the 116. After a quick stop at Jim's I continued on Adobe and back onto the 116 for the umpteenth time today. The mustard is still beautiful!More pix at: http://kittygirl.smugmug.com/gallery/7891795_BntEJ#511738028_6GsVC
