So I made an appointment with a trainer at the gym for yesterday at noon. Showed up and it turned out he'd forgotten to write it down and wasn't available. Rescheduled for today at 9am and went home as I didn't have headphones and it was a beautiful day. Got on the bicycle and did a ~12.5 mile loop in 70 minutes. E. Cotati > Snyder > Petaluma Hill > Railroad > Redwood Highway > Myrtle > Park > Benson. It was a much nicer loop than the one I first did last month - less ruts and more hills. I'd like to shave at least 15 minutes off that time in the next several weeks. I seriously need a new seat and perhaps different shorts. About 45 minutes into the ride my crotch was numb. Getting off the bicycle was incredibly painful. I'll be heading to the Trek store soon!
I've been major bummed that I don't have any one to train with and haven't been consistent at all since I signed up for the tri. I finally started talking about it and go figure, I met someone yesterday that is training for a tri in August. She lives in Sacramento but the comfort I received in knowing the universe was listening really helped.
The training session this morning was a total disappointment because it was really only an "orientation" and he couldn't give me a plan. Of course, if I paid him then yes then I could have one. Sigh. I didn't really like him anyway so at least I've seen where the machines are and can do some reading/remembering past routines and come up with my own. Followed that up with a 15 minute mile on the Precor and a 10 minute 1/2 mile that I actually jogged .15, walked .15, jogged .1, walked .1; it was nice to at least get in a little bit without dying.
